Plants offer important source of food and drugs for human being since very early age. One such plant is Ulatkambal  scientifically called Abroma augusta. It is an evergreen small shrub with a long history of medicinal uses. Commonly known as  Devil's Cotton, it is a Tibbi-Unani plant with a rich history of traditional use in Indian medicine. It is also called Pisachkarpas, Ritumati and Yonipushpa in various languages. It is widely distributed in asian countries.  Almost all parts of the plant are used for the treatment of various ailments. In Ayurvedic medicine, it bears therapeutic properties in managing menstrual disorders, supporting uterine health, and offering potential benefits in diabetes management and inflammatory conditions. 
Ulatkambal is a medium-sized shrub, growing up to 4-5 meters in height. It has large, heart-shaped leaves. The plant produces striking, reddish-brown flowers with five petals that bloom in clusters. These flowers have a unique appearance and are a notable feature of the plant. The fruit of the Ulatkambal is a capsule containing numerous seeds. It thrives in warm, humid climates and is often found near riverbanks or in moist, shady areas.

Ulatkambal has been traditionally used in Ayurvedic medicine for various therapeutic purposes. Some of its notable benefits include
1.    Female friendly
It is commonly used to treat menstrual problems such as irregular periods, menstrual cramps and excessive bleeding. It is beneficial in female infertility and scanty menses. The plant contains compounds that help regulate hormonal balance and alleviate symptoms associated with menstruation. It works as a uterine tonic, which can help strengthen the uterus and improve reproductive health in women.
2.    Anti-inflammatory
